a poem by Thax Douglas (mkl.)
My long time friend and estimed rock and roll poet laureate, Thax Douglas, read a poem for us at our show at The Fireside Saturday night.
Thank you, Thax.
Here it is:
----------
'TURN PALE'
On Earth
unwinding itself as
it orbits forms
a mummy chockfull
of question marks
that tickle when it's
sleekly pulled on
like any dress - the
magma at the
Earth's core coyly
fly up to provide
earrings and other
accessories as the
planet exits stage through -
fashion always
has a place to go as
the mummy explores
its coffin gently pushing
against the trillion
invisible layers that
throb like a scab
collection lovingly
webcast every
time the sun goes
to do its makeup.
